Sandy's Winter Memory
this is a piece that was created from Sandy's memory of her childhood back yard.  She remembers sliding down these snow covered hills at night enjoying the full moon and the tree shadows.  Can't you imagine it?  I can also make your memories come to life...what would you like to see again from your memory?

I wanted to make myself something out of  some opaque glass that I bought 15 years ago, when I first started creating stained glass.   I didn't realize at the time that these opaque glasses would not be in high demand but I just loved the bright colors.  I have a basement closet and wanted to make a stained glass barn door  but spend very  little money.  Someone gave me some old windows so I stripped and painted 3 of them and connected them all together with strips of wood on the sides.   I wanted the Frank Lloyd Wright style of vertical so just had fun with the design.  My husband manufactured the barn door hardware for around $40.    The final result was just what I wanted to bring color to a dreary area around our wood stove.

When you think about where you would use stained glass in your home, don't just think windows.

I am planning a bedroom piece that will be implanted in the middle of a basement bedroom wall with a light behind it.  It should help open up the room and  add warmth to the room.
